Pie Crust
- 2 ½ cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
- ¼ cup Ice water
Filling
- 6 Apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- ¾ cup Granulated sugar
- ¼ cup Brown sugar packed
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
- ¼ cup All-purpose flour
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt for the crust. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
Roll out half of the dough to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Place crust in pie dish. Roll out remaining dough to cover the top of the pie.
In a large bowl, combine apples, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Pour into crust-lined pie dish. Cover with top crust, seal edges, and cut away excess dough. Make several small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack.
