Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup red wine
- 28 oz canned tomatoes
- 2 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- to taste salt and pepper
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Pour in red wine and let it simmer until reduced by half.
Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, and basil.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
