Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, combine buttermilk, sugar, and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and whisk in baking soda and vanilla extract. The mixture will foam up.
  3. Let the foam settle down before serving. Serve warm over pancakes or waffles.
