Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 slices Bacon chopped
  • 1 cup Onion chopped
  • 2 cups Potatoes peeled and diced
  • 2 cans Clams with juice
  • 2 cups Half-and-Half
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoon All-Purpose Flour
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. 2. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  3. 3. Add the diced potatoes, clams with juice, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  4. 4. In a separate pan, melt the butter and stir in the flour to make a roux. Cook for a minute, then gradually whisk in the half-and-half.
  5. 5. Add the roux to the pot and stir well. Cook until the chowder thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. 6. Serve hot, garnished with the crispy bacon.
