Main Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the cherries and ½ cup of the sugar. Set aside.
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining ½ cup of sugar.
Add the milk and melted butter to the flour mixture and stir until smooth.
Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Spoon the cherry mixture evenly over the batter.
Bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the crust comes out clean.
Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
