Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add ground beef to the saucepan and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in marinara sauce, dried oregano, and dried basil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese.
In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top. Spread a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce.
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before serving.
