Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 cans Crushed Tomatoes (28 oz each)
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Sugar (optional, to taste)
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Add sugar if the sauce is too acidic.
Serve hot over pasta or use as a base for other dishes.
