Ingredients 

Base Layer

  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

Custard Layer

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla custard powder
  • 3 tablespoons milk

Top Layer

  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, and cocoa powder over low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Stir in the graham cracker crumbs, coconut, and walnuts. Press the mixture into a greased 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. 2. For the custard layer, beat the softened butter, powdered sugar, custard powder, and milk until smooth. Spread over the base layer and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  3. 3. For the top layer, melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth. Spread over the chilled custard layer. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.
