Ingredients 

Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 lb potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground meat until browned. Add onions, carrots, and peas. Cook until vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until thickened.
  4. In a pot, boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with milk and butter. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Spread meat mixture in a baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until top is golden brown.
