Shepherds Pie Recipe
A classic comfort food dish made with ground meat, vegetables, and mashed potatoes.

- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 2 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Mashed Potatoes
- 2 lb potatoes, peeled and cubed
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup butter
- to taste salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a skillet, cook ground meat until browned. Add onions, carrots, and peas. Cook until vegetables are tender.
Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until thickened.
In a pot, boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with milk and butter. Season with salt and pepper.
Spread meat mixture in a baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes.
Bake for 20 minutes or until top is golden brown.
