Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions 

  1. Combine soy sauce, water, mirin, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  3. If you want a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
